Big Day of Giving 2021

Music soothes the soul and brings deep comfort to all of us. Like most arts organizations, we learned to pivot, find new skills, and provide content in a virtual framework.  We are very proud of our video productions released in the past year, including two Young Artists Recital videos (2021 Recital to be available Late May 2021), our full-length documentary, “Auburn Symphony: Scaling the Heights”, our mosaic video of the Firebird Suite Finale (1919), and our exciting upcoming educational video titled “Auburn Symphony Presents: What Do You Hear?” (to be released late spring 2021 to Placer County preschools and K-3 students in the early fall of 2021).  We are preparing to move forward in the 2021/2022 season with our Finalist Showcase Series concerts (dates TBD) that will enable us to choose our next Music Director.  The future is looking very bright indeed!  Thank you for your continued support of the Auburn Symphony!

WHAT is Big Day of Giving?
Big Day of Giving is a 24-hour online giving challenge that brings together the region’s nonprofit community to help raise much-needed unrestricted funds and shine a spotlight on the work nonprofits do to make the Sacramento region the place we call home. For the past few years, the giving day has united our community, raising more than $8.4 million for local nonprofits from over 23,000 donors from all over the Sacramento region.

WHEN is it?
The online event will take place all day on Thursday, May 6th.  However, donors can pre-schedule their giving starting Thursday, April 22nd.  Your early gift will be credited on the date the gift is given, and it will show on the leaderboard starting May 6th.

WHERE is it taking place?
Right in the safety of your own home, from your computer!  Due to continuing health restrictions, we are unable to host a large in-person event again this year, but you are welcome to stop by the office between 9-3 p.m.  Check out the leaderboard throughout the day to watch our progress.

WHAT methods of payment are accepted?
Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover, are accepted online.

Prior to May 6th, checks can be sent directly to the Auburn Symphony office, made payable to Auburn Symphony, Post Office Box 74, Auburn, California, 95604.  Credit card donations can be made as well: click here.  All early donations will show on the Auburn Symphony Big Day of Giving leaderboard on May 6th.

WHY is this so important to the Auburn Symphony?
The Auburn Symphony can raise tens of thousands of dollars that we are designating toward our Masterworks concert series, our community concerts, and our unique Educational Outreach programs.

WHY should I donate on May 6th, rather than some other day?
Incentive funds and cash prizes are awarded to the organizations from local community foundations!  For example, the Golden 1 Credit Union will donate money back if you use your Golden 1 debit or credit card for your donation.

In last year’s BIG Day of Giving the Auburn Symphony raised over $43,000, our biggest Big DoG to date!  We were amazed and thankful for the outpouring of support we received with so many unknowns ahead.  You helped us not only survive this past year, but stay alive with new video projects that we were proud to share with our loyal patrons.  We are deeply grateful for the enduring support.>

Please mark your calendars to make a donation to the Auburn Symphony on May 6th!

THANK YOU for your support!
