Auburn Symphony 2010

Earlier this year, the Auburn Symphony embarked on a project to put together a short DVD that highlights the Auburn Symphony and all that it encompasses. One of the comments we hear all too from people is that they had no idea Auburn had a Symphony, let alone one so accomplished. Auburn and the surrounding communities are really blessed to have such a magnificent Symphony, led by Maestro Michael Goodwin, a true revelation.

Working with videographer Tim Anderson, Business Manager Rob Haswell compiled video clips from recent concerts, recorded interviews with Maestro Goodwin and many others, and tried to tell the story of the Auburn Symphony. The goal of the DVD is to create an audio/visual “highlight” film that can be distributed to potential donors, foundations and other organizations that support the arts.

This video is a representation of that DVD. If you would like to donate to the Auburn Symphony, please click .

Does anyone know how I can get in touch with Kaari Grosscup?

  3. Thanks to a link sent to me by a kind soul, I have just found all these videos of my brother and the orchestra.

In-between the tears of viewing them and hearing Michael speak, I am so impressed by this project and by what the orchestra is doing.

These videos add so much to the experience of the orchestra. A big thank you to the innovator and producers amongst you.

My you soon find a new and worthy leader and my Auburn Symphony continue to give joy and prosper.

      Ms. Buckingham,

Thank you so very much for writing. I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Over the past few days I have heard from, spoken to and cried with so many people whose lives intersected with Michael’s. He was an amazing human being and so incredibly generous with his talent. As a testament to the respect others in his field held for Michael, we have been inundated with offers from conductors offering to step in during the interim as we begin the unbelievable process of finding our next music director. I will be posting a video of Michael’s last concert with the Symphony as soon as I can. I have three cds of Michael conducting the Auburn Symphony and would very much like to send them to you. We have a Facebook page, with some wonderful posts from patrons of the Symphony at .

      Warmest regards,
